     Write Here Your Desire

Year of composition: 2021

Classification: Orchestral / Electroacoustic-mixed.

Instrumentation:  2-2-2-2 / 4-2-3 / Tpn-Vibraphone, drumset, and computer.

Orchestra: FILMA's Orchestra

Brief comment on the work:

The piece speaks of our yearnings when we think about the future. It talks about our processes and phases when we try to have control over what is not completely possible, projecting our desires there. There is a mixture of compositional languages, in a process of experimenting with paths that meet and form a coherent sense, even when they seem contradictory at first glance. This is noticeable, for example, through the search for communication between the traditional, the modern, and the urban popular. A point to highlight is that in addition to the traditional instruments of the orchestra and the electroacoustic elements, this work also has the insertion of a drumset that reinforces a certain jazz flavor in the work. In fact, the improvisation (for clarinet, viola, and percussion) is also a key point. After all, in life's paths, not everything is controlled, we often need the skill of an expert improviser.

  • Silêncio Tardio (Late Silence)

Year of composition: 2013

Classification: Acusmatic Music (concrete/electronic)

Brief commentary on the work:

It was composed and premiered at the Vale Veneto Winter Festival (2013). It uses silence as a metaphor for a psychological state of suspension and passivity.

Three captures of the soundscape of Vale Veneto were used. Without major technological supports at the moment, the composition was done using the audacity software.

The video is a mere aid to listening, placed later by the composer.

Subsequently, it was used as the underlying flow in the work "(________) write here your wish", premiered by the Symphony Orchestra Altino Pimenta in 2014.

Brief commentary on the work:

Programmatic work inspired by the poem:

"Simultaneous development of heat and light in a place of delicious cold nights,
sizzling like someone dancing, in a world of nights and lights, lots of lights...

Dance fire, dance!

Consume and erase all untruth spoken to you.

Be for yourself and everything else just what you are: Fire!

Dance fire, dance! Fire!

Be in a silent... The fire that you are!" (CJD)

  • O vôo do Beija Flor (the flight of the hummingbird)

Year: 2013

Sound direction; sound designer; original soundtrack (opening): Cibelle J. Donza

When a girl's tears touch the waters of a polluted river in the Amazon, she will experience a magical encounter with Arthur Bispo do Rosário (1911-1989), one of the most fascinating names in Brazilian Contemporary Art, whose solid waste was the raw material to build an enchanted world of miniatures, boats and various objects. And as if in a touch of magic, Bishop comes back to life to teach the little girl that everything we discard can be reborn in a charming way.

  • Verde Mar - Álibi de Orfeu

Year: 2013

Arrangement of the orchestral part.

  • Sexteto para 'Kahlar' - O Silêncio... (“Sextet to 'Kahlar' - The Silence...”)

Year of composition: 2010

Classification: Chamber Music / Electroacoustic-mixed.

Instrumentation: Oboe, Vibraphone, 2 Guitars, Cello, 2 Sopranos,     Percussion (snare drum, cymbal, quijada and Bongos), and Computer.

Recording: Zarabatana Studio - 2012

Brief comment on the work:

Inspired by the painting "Arbol de La Esperanza - Mantente Firme", by the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. It also draws parallels with other works of the painter, based on the narrative proposed by the composer. The title makes a game of words to the surname of the painter "Kahlo", which in Portuguese resembles to one of the conjugations of the verb "calar", which means to keep silent.
